Installing MC27

<< < (4/10) > >>

zimmy:
I've upgraded from a prior version of MC24 install on Windows 10 computer.  After installing 27 my settings and library were imported.  The old MC24 was also still installed.  So I want to uninstall MC24.  My question is when I uninstall it asks me if I want to remove the Media Center's registry entries.  So if I remove the registry entries is that going to mess up my MC27 install?  Or does it only remove entries specific to MC24?  Thanks.

JimH:
It won't affect MC27.

Randy2:
How do I completely uninstall MC27?
I've reinstalled it but previous settings were still applied.
And WDM driver still shows up as ’JRiver Media Center 25' that's weird.

The WDM driver hasn't been updated since MC25, so that's normal for it to display that.

--- Quote from: fyl on October 11, 2020, 03:53:26 pm ---I've upgraded my desk station from MC 26.x (French version) to 27.0.20 (French version) last week. The main server as well as my laptop still use MC 26.x.

Everything is fine except a few translation errors/omissions and a very annoying behavior with cover art.

It displays properly at the top the MC window as well as close to the file names but not in views (cf. attached screenshot).

At the system level, all audio file (flac/ape/wav...) miniatures have disappeared, replaced by application icons. Audio files are properly tagged using dBpoweramp and have embedded folder.jpg miniatures. Folders and other file types still show proper miniatures.

This problem seems to be custom handler related, but, as I've upgraded MC as well as dBpoweramp (from 16.x to 17.2) the same day, this could be caused by the latter or could be a conflict between custom handlers.

I've cleaned the miniatures cache, done an in-place repair of Windows 10 Pro, uninstalled and reinstalled MC as well as dBpoweramp. Still the same problem.

I'm in contact with Spoon at Illustrate who's currently investigating this problem on the dBpoweramp side.

Just upgraded Windows 10 from 2009 to 20H2 and the miniatures are back... I still don't know what had caused the problem. Oh well.
