Installing MC27

JimH:
Most likely Windows Defender silently blocking.  Read the WD thread here.

rganiard:
It filled up my internal C drive again with music files, so it will take a while to get my computer running again.  I don't think I can post screenshots here to it's hard to convey some messages. I have this now:  Please ensure that the file 'C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 27\JRTools.dll' is not in use.

It's still copying files from my external E drive to my onboard C drive and then nearly freezing the computer.

JimH:
It won't copy files unless you tell it to.

rganiard:
I know.  You've told me this before. I did eliminate a library that was labeled C: but I'm still having trouble.

For now, I'll hang with MC26 since it works. I don't know what I don't know, so I can't articulate my issues to you coherently.  Something changed or I lucked into all my upgrades since the high teens some years back.

I think what you're seeing is MC importing your files.  It's not moving them.  Let it finish or stop it, clear your library (File > Library) and set up auto-import the way you want it.
