Dropdown steals focus from entry field

(1/1)

grizzlebizzle:
This has been an issue forever but it is pretty maddening when trying to use the software. If I select a column and press F2 to edit, the first character I enter pops open a dropdown showing matches - that is fine - what is not fine is that it steals focus from the entry field. So if I blank the Genre field and press R it opens the dropdown with all the matching entries that start with R... then if I type O nothing happens because focus was stolen. I have to click back into the entry field before I can type another character. Any chance that could be fixed? It's not a problem on Windows but makes it very hard to do any organizing and tag updating (which is the primary reason I have the software) on Linux with a extra clicks for every operation to restore focus.

JimH:
What version are you using?  What Distro?

This doesn't happen for me.  It's possible it's the desktop you use.

Lucifer:
I also see this issue -

Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.73.0
Qt Version: 5.15.0
Kernel Version: 5.8.6-1-MANJARO
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-8259U CPU @ 2.30GHz
Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Iris® Plus Graphics 655

Media Center 27.0.15

I had the same issue on versions 24 and 26.

Awesome Donkey:
I'm fairly certain this is related to KDE Plasma. In the past there's been focus issues reported when using it.
