Why not Tidal under Streaming?
« on: September 24, 2020, 08:25:28 am »

Why cannot Tidal just be enabled under the Streaming section?  Is there any particularly reason for not? WDM is not a nice solution.

It's been discussed countless times here on the forums on why streaming service integrations like Tidal/Qobuz/Spotify/etc. in JRiver Media Center likely won't ever happen. Next time I'd recommend doing a search of the forums before posting.

If you want Tidal streaming through MC itself, the WDM driver is the only way.

Is there any particularly reason for not? If you do not like my postings just remove them.  Sorry!

Did you read the topic I linked? Jim and Hendrik posted some insights.

TL;DR, JRiver did a Tidal integration years ago, it was fully working and everything. But Tidal was unpleasant for JRiver to work with and demanded control of the interface. Since this was a dealbreaker, JRiver chose to remove the Tidal integration.
