media center 27 no sound on streaming radio fip and bbc

<< < (2/3) > >>

dctom:
Dont know what is going on - can't even play from my library now!!

JimH:
Restart both the computer and the DAC.

bob:
When you play streaming sources that stay on the internal browser window (they DON'T switch to Playing Now) the audio is played through the default audio device on the system.

Sources like Radio Paradise and Radio JRiver that switch to playing now use MC's playback engine.
That's an unavoidable consequence of the web based playback.
If you want them to all play through your DAC you will need to make sure your linux default audio device is the DAC.

As far as playing tracks through the DAC in MC is concerned, please share your MC audio device and settings. (Tools->Options->Audio)

dctom:
I have set my Dac as the default audio device.
I have attached screenshots of setting for DAC and error messages.

bob:
You should switch to the front: device or the iec958 device for your DAC otherwise the system will limit you to only 48k sampling rate by default.

You can always run
/usr/lib/jriver/Media\ Center\ 27/alsacap from a terminal to see what you device supports.
