DTS Support?
« on: October 10, 2020, 02:42:56 pm »

So I am reading the wiki page trying to find a solution of playing my DTS encoded FLAC files that MC26 is not decoding.  When I play one, I hear noise instead of music.

This wiki page states that all version of MC above 15 decode DTS:  https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/DTS_WAV

I have a few audio CDs that are encoded 5.1 DTS.  I ripped these as lossless FLAC files.  What can I do to get MC to play these properly?  fb2k has a DTS plugin that is able to properly decode the audio at 5.1.  Does MC have a DSP setting I need to turn on?

MediaCenter has no support for the format.

I will stick with fb2k.

Thanks.

Have you considered converting them from DTS-encoded WAV to a regular .DTS file or even straight-up multichannel FLAC?  It'd be more compatible with most players.  I converted mine eons ago...IIRC I used a tool called "wav2dts" to convert the encoded WAV to a straight-up .DTS format (which MC will play); from there it's your choice to convert it further to FLAC.

Cheers,
