Complete Album
« on: October 21, 2020, 02:30:20 am »

What is the definition of a complete album in TAGs. You cannot edit it, so it is derived from other tags. I have a lot of albums which MC27 says there are incomplete but there are no (no. of tracks is not the issue?!!)

Complete Album follows some internal logic:

All tracks in same folder
All tracks has consecutive track#

There may be other rules, eg all tracks have same 'Album' title etc

Thx. But does somebody have the exact formula. It sees that all tracks being in one folder maybe one but not always (apparently)

Sometimes MC will declare an album as Incomplete if all the tracks are in the same folder, have the same [Album] Name but there are different artists listed in the [Album Artist] Tags.

According to the Wiki

https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Multiple_Artist_Albums

Complete Album is defined by

all tracks are of [Media Type]=Audio
all tracks have exactly the same, non-empty [Album] value
all tracks are in the same folder - i.e. have the same value for the [Filename (path)] field
all tracks have sequential [Track #] values starting at 1
all tracks have the same, or sequentially increasing [Disc #] values (empty and 1 are considered the same)

In View Schemes, an Album is defined by tracks having a common Album Artist or Album Artist (Auto) value.

https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Album_Artist_and_Album_Artist_(Auto)

Although seemingly related,  the Complete Album tag and the determinization of what an Album is are based on different criteria.

It is under tag view. If not shown, hit Show All Tags and it should show up: name is Complete Album
