Last.fm Scrobbling Poor Usability

The issue has been solved and it was my fault.
When clicking 'manage Last.FM' account in MC service options, it opens Last.FM in the default browser to authorise the connection. MC also opens a prompt to click 'ok' once you have authorised the connection. It is imperative that this is clicked only after you have authorised the connection between MC and Last.FM in the browser. It does say this clearly in the prompt but if you skim read it (like I was) then you miss the important word 'after', i.e. if you click op before authorising in the browser it will not work.
Thank you Awesome Donkey for your help and patience. Hopefully this will help others if they fall over themselves in the same way.
