Random speaker blowing distortion with denafrips venus
« on: November 07, 2020, 05:16:13 pm »

Howdy

Running into a concerning issue on both windows(26) and linux(27) jriver.

DAC is configured to bitstream dsd.  I will queue up a variety of music formats (dsf various rates and flac various rates) and at random times I will get massive static/distortion.  Fast forward doesn't fix.  I have to stop playback and restart.

Any thoughts on how to address this?

Thanks much
Gregg

Your DAC probably doesn't support the formats you're playing.

All formats I have are supported.  When a song is playing where I get distortion, I can stop playback and restart without issue.  The same track that was distorted plays fine.

Some DAC's have trouble switching sample rates.  Try using MC's DSP Studio > Output Format to force everything to 44.1 or 48 Khz.  If that works, try something higher.

Do you have gapless playback turned on?  Try turning it off.
