Remove Files From Library When Outside Watched Folders
« on: November 16, 2020, 01:41:38 pm »

I have about 6 watched folders I have setup for Auto import. Is there a way to setup MC where if I use the Library Tools, Rename, Move & Copy Files tool to move files from my watched folders to other folders outside of my watched folders, that they will be removed from the Library? Thanks!

No. It's a two step process.  Move them first, then delete from library after.

Thanks wer. I thought maybe if I added the folders I was moving the files to as an 'Exclude this folder and all child folders' mode in the Auto Import, Folder Settings that it might Auto Remove them but looks like once they are in, they are in unless manually removed, which is fine. It's easy enough to setup a smartlist for but I was just trying to automate a big job I am working on. Thanks again.

Yes. The only way they get removed is if the links are actually broken, and you have that option enabled in Auto-Import.

If you want, though, you could use this: https://blog.glynor.com/mcfileremover

I have scripts that run using that to auto-delete a wide variety of junk files (NFO things and the like) from my Libraries. It would be trivial to set up a smartlist that includes only files in a certain directory structure, and use that tool to auto-remove them on a schedule.
