I saw that there was an update to the Exoplayer so I tried a recent rip of War of the Worlds to see if it would play in Dolby Vision on my Shield. It does not. I'm just curious if anything else needs to happen on the JRiver side to get it to work or if it is solely on the Exoplayer version.

What is the container format of the file?

MKV. MakeMKV now supports ripping Dolby Vision. People have it working on Plex.

I recently acquired an nvidia shield and fwiw I am also super hopeful that jriver on android enables dolbyvision playback from mkv.

I'm also assuming that the option to pass dolbyvision through to let the TV handle it is not already an option?
