Seperate music, is this possible?
« on: April 12, 2003, 04:38:27 pm »

I know MC9 dumps all the songs into one big folder. I was wondering is there a way i can isolate them using multiple "song" folder?

I know you can use filters and playlist, but i need a way to completly seperate them apart. So when i add new songs into MC9, i can edit the tags and basically drag it to the folder i want to place them in...

Thx.

Yes....and if you look under Tools->Options->File Naming & Locations, you will see the multitude of options you can use with MC to create separate distinct folders for all of your music.

I'm not sure that it's clear what you mean by "separate songs". Do you mean that you want each song to have its' own folder?

yes. and create multiple "audio" folder with differnt content in them. I just want to seperate Korean songs from English. I don't like how MC9 tries to just dump all of them into one folder and i have to start filtering out one by one with playlist.

It would be awesome to have multiple Audio folder where i can just create each one for differnt purposes for sake of partitioning the songs to make it more organized. It's so difficult to go through 600+ songs in one big folder.

This could be done eaily, just by having each "Audio" folder to only show the songs that is located in their own respective folder in the windows.

So "Audio 1" folder could display it's songs by looking in the windows folder "Music 1".

"Audio 2" could only display the songs that's located inside "Music 2" folder, etc.

If I understand, then this is what you do.

Find out what field you are using for language and add that to the Directory Rule inside brackets.

Like this:

[Language]\[Artist]\[Album]
