Windows Defender Blocking 27.0.47
« on: December 23, 2020, 11:39:11 pm »

For the 2nd Beta Release on the trot Windows Defender has "Blocked" the MC 27.0.47 download with the message - "was blocked because it could harm your device".

When I went use the Keep option this came up - "Microsoft Defender SmartScreen reported that this app is not commonly downloaded; you should only open files you trust."

As with the download of 27.0.43 I took the opportunity to "Report the Site as Safe" before using the Keep anyway option.

Isn't it about time somebody from JRiver contacted Microsoft's Win Defender Division to determine what it is in the JRiver software that Win Defender constantly takes a dislike to and correct it.

It's known, it'll just take a little while for Windows/Defender to trust it.

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from "male enhancements" and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.

That message happens to every new software or after changing the signature (ours expired, so a new one was needed).
