Description:When running "Auto Group" on all TV channels, users are presented with a list of tuner types to select, so one can choose which types of channels are included in the auto group process.
Instructions:After clicking "Auto Group" button, a popup window is shown as before, for you to order the channel types in the grouping process. You can accept the default/previous order, or make changes. After you click OK on that,
a second popup window is shown, with checkboxes in front of tuner types. You can pick which types are involved in the "auto grouping" process.
For example, if you have two HDHomeRun PRIME devices (for cable TV), and you use DMS (TunerStream) tuner types, then this list may look like:
- ATSC
- OpenCable
- STB (capture device)
- TunerStream (HDHomeRun DMS 1234ABCD (HDHomeRun PRIME))
- TunerStream (HDHomeRun DMS DCBA1234 (HDHomeRun PRIME))
Because DMS channels are associated with particular DMS devices, you have to have two sets of DMS channels, one set for each device. That is why you have two TunerStream entries in the list. Now you can uncheck all other types (ATSC, OpenCable, etc.) but only leave the last two checked. Click OK. The two sets of DMS channels are now grouped into one, while your other channels (ATSC, OpenCable, and STB etc.) are left alone (but of course, if you do want other types of channels involved in the process, by all means leave them checked as well).
