Editing tracks in the "playing now" view still allows editing the tags, but now also immediately starts the selected track. That is new and does not make sense to me.
Selecting the "track title" should start the track, but selecting the "i" should not do it.

Agreed!.. this is totally useless. I have been trying to figure out how to edit the Metadata of tracks in any given album without any success. The best I could do is edit the first track in the album track list, if I try to click on any subsequent track in the list after the first one JRemtoe triggers the playback of that track and I cannot edit its associated Metadata... It is a strange behavior... I recall in the past that by clicking on the information circle of any track I could from there edit its Metadata, but now this only works for the first track in the album track list.... hopefully someone is paying attention to this.
