cd files not recognized
« on: May 07, 2021, 06:16:15 pm »

I'm just starting with Media Center and I have a pretty basic problem. When I load a CD in my drive MC locates the track info for the database but will not recognize the tracks to play or to rip.

I had been using MC for Mac with no problem, ripping CDs was easy, so I don't think I'm misusing the software. Also, Windows Media Player can read and play the same CDs.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm on Windows 10.  The drive is a new ASUS superdrive.

Check your settings under Tools Options, then CD, DVD, BD section. Then about half way down there is a subsection called "Auto Rip CD database Lookup Options" in that group make sure "Enable auto-rip Mode" is enabled?

Yes, that was it. Thank you David! It's working fine now. Guess I have a lot to learn. Much appreciated.
