Feature Request: DSP studio 9.1 channels option
« on: May 08, 2021, 05:41:51 am »

As the title says would love a 9.1 channels option in the output section of the DSP studio.

does it mean a 9.1 upmix? if so, what are the 2 extra channels?

if it just means 10 channel output then use the 10 channel option (which is a 7.1 mix target with 2 extra channels for you to do as you like with)

Thanks. Matt. I have 2 height speakers in my 9.1 system. It is a Magnets Sr 7015 Avr. I have tried the 10 channel setup using HDMI connection but get a playback error. 7.1 channel option works fine.

Thanks again.

Your receiver can only accept up to 7.1 channels via HDMI. Extra channels are encoded in metadata in formats like ATMOS etc.

If it's a Marantz 7015, it can process 11 channels.

7015 is exactly what @fitbrit refers to

It can only receive 7.1 max ... 4 height channel are calculated by 7015 from Atmos/dtsX metadata (there are no additional channels for height ... only medatada ... then compatible reveiver will calculate for heights based on you height speaker configuration )

EDIT: and no ... MC cannot process Atmos or DTSX and output height channels to receiver ... only thing that comes to mind that can do it is Trinnov
