play 2ch through front speakers only (no copy to rears)

AGAWA:
is there a setting that will play 2ch (stereo) through front speakers only - without copying to rear speakers? Mac MC 27.

AGAWA:
I can , of course, set my setup to 2 channels, no up/downmixing. With 2ch input nothing should be copied to rear speakers.
But I would like to avoid entering DSP Studio do do the changes as I change the input channels number.

AGAWA:
maybe create another zone for  2 ch only? Using the same DAC?
Please help.

it's not obvious what the problem is, do you mean that you want to play multichannel content in one format and stereo in another or something else?

AGAWA:
I have 4 speakers setup. With downmixing from 5.1 to 4.0.
When input is 2ch - music is output from all 4 speakers, I prefer just 2 front speakers.
Two fronts are copied to 2 rear speakers.

I was searching for setting that would disable copy to rears when input is 2ch.

It's not a big deal, but would be nice not to be forced to change settings when  2ch is being played.
