I tried to find a thread that covers this topic but there are so many and titled it numerous ways.

I am adding a filder with Tools/Import/Import a single folder method.

It is a 100 hits list but only 1/4 are coming through.

I have added exceptions in windows defender, but still the list is incomplete.

If I ask MC27 to play a single file that did not show up it plays - I tried on several files and all seem ok to play, but the list remains incomplete.

I have also restarted my PC in the process of trying to get the folder's contents into the MC17.

What else should I try?

Well, the files were actually coming through... yeah. But the tags were different.
Since I was using Artist sorting they were hidden.
Then I went to album View - viola! The whole enchilada.
