Auto Import Not Working

<< < (2/2)

My auto-import was not working either.   What I discovered was that the folders to search in were missing and had been defaulted to a MC C: drive folder.  I had to recreate them along with redefine the file types/extensions to search for

I upgraded from MC26.    I also found that MC28 lost all the media network settings, zones etc. that I had in 26.

I had posted a note but deleted since it received no comments so just assumed it was NAS busy or something else. It isn't the NAS. I never shutdown or restart unless a Windows update forces me to restart the system.

Got impatient and created a shortcut key to manually initiate the import if my new folders are not detected in few minutes like they used to.

I know this is an old post but Ill take a chance and ask what is and how to create this

"Got impatient and created a shortcut key to manually initiate the import if my new folders are not detected in few minutes like they used to."?

I am on 31x and the same issue here

Just as of yesterday imports were there instantly, and not all day today

But when I browse the HDDs inside JRiver the new files/CDs are there, just not found in a search nor are they found in the artists/albums view

The HDDs are set to auto import as well

Can I ask, is there a way to "auto import" just recently added files instead of importing the entire HDD again? I imagine that will take a long time, like starting all over? The 1st time took many hours as the HDD is many TBs

Cheers

Sure thing...

I created a custom key sequence (ctrl-shift-I) which I initiate manually to rescan and my library. To accomplish this, you need to create a custom resource file which contains the desired key sequence.

1. Goto C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 33\Data\ and create a directory Custom resources (C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 33\Data\Custom Resources)
2. Copy the attached file or create a new one called Resources.xml in the directory.

--- Code: ---<!-- Make Ctrl;Shift;I...Run auto import -->
<Entry Key="Ctrl;Shift;I" Command="23020" Global="1" />
--- End code ---
3. Save. You may need to restart JRiver, don't recall.

This file survives updates and release upgrades. Further references here on command codes.
