TV and Edge Browser Problems
« on: July 17, 2021, 09:10:17 pm »

Updated to MC28 last week & now I have problems constantly;

1. MC28 hangs every time I start television playing, with eventually saying "No such interface Supported". Same tuner same everything for years, now it hangs the whole machine for several minutes? Does DVB-T of my old tuner been switched off with IPTV or other updates this version. I unloaded MC27 too soon without fully testing. I have re-installed. I have cleared space on my Data drive to ensure it can stream record without a problem. Nothing else has changed since update to MC28.

2. I thought I could open Youtube in a separate player window like I could in MC27, in a browser (MC-Edge) window so I could pick up the URL, but I can't get that to work either like the old versions.

3. In addition while in this forum within MC-Edge window, I am trying to type this post and everytime I hit space bar, it starts playing whatever was queued before Not insert a space into the text I'm typing... I have to edit a post in notepad and cut paste.

4. Browswing in the MC-Edge tabs, also does not register forward and back pages (top left tab micro buttons) making it difficult to navigate

Am I the only one with problems? The windows install/PC is a year old (below)

Thanks Jim,

I have configure Defender as per https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,114101.0.html

Exactly the same message appears as though DVB-T is no longer supported or something. Defender does not influence the other 2-4 elements in the list though?

We're not seeing this problem generally, so it's likely something about your hardware/software.

Forget about Youtube for the moment.  That could be something else.

Use one tab.

Reinstall.

Try the 32 bit version.

Better description.  Version of  MC, OS, TV Tuner, etc.

I am at a loss, I cannot make any improvement to this strange behaviour. I can't even type in the forum without the space bar stting off 'Play' of the last media file I had open. Going to have to uninstall and wipe everything start again some how.. Whole machine install is only 12 months old so I would have thought I would longer before any glitchy behaviour started.

How about browssr plug-ins?  Or anything  special you run that relates to the display?

Did you try a Google  search?

Thanks Jim,

I have no special display or mouse software loaded on top of standard window install. I have intel Intgrated graphics again drivers loaded throug Windows install. I have no browser add-ins except Adblock Plus that I have been running for years. Now MC28 has crashed completely and brought everything down.

Does MC store anything in temp or %AppData...temp? I have cleared those out around smae time I had issues? Cleared out the temp folder.

To fix this I had to do a system restore back 2 weeks ago. Now it's running TV properly. I still have space bar starts a file while trying to type in the forum window, and the mirco buttons not working. For reference these programs were loaded within the same 2 weeks period that caused problems. Perhaps one of them impacted somehow, all came via system update;

 - MS 365 Apps for Enterprise en-us 16.0.14131.20278
 - MS Edge 92.0.902.55
 - MS Edge Webview 92.0.902.55
 - MS SCSI Apadter 21/6/2006 10.0.19041.1081
 - MS System update 10.0.19041.1081
 - MS System update 10.0.19041.662 wvmbus.inf
 - MS System update 10.0.19041.964 pci.inf
 - MS System update 10.0.19041.1081 usbprint.inf
 - Security Update for Package_for_RolloupFix (KB5004945)

This fixed the main problem at #1., but 2., 3. & 4. are still an issue
