OT-looking for a scanner

I need one good at pictures AND printing and writting.

Printing and writing are as much important to me than pictures.
Price not an issue

Zev,

Hard to beat HP. Well built w/ good software. Have a ScanJet IIc (SCSI) scanner here. Fast & reliable. It's pushing 7 yrs old. Newer one's can drive the computer via the on-scanner buttons.

I trust HP.
Never had a HP printer because ink cost a lot.

will have a look at what we have it and read online.We have HP
My old scanner is an UMAX rally bad with printing and writing.
And not 2000 compatible.

HP has a nice Color Copier, Fax, Printer & Scanner Combo About $500

Visioneer makes a good one. Mine also came with Adobe Photoshop Elements. But that was about a year ago.
