GTX 1030 gets stuck in HDR mode with MC 27

I recently noticed that my JVC NX7 projector remained in HDR mode after my 4k movie finished and returned to MC in theater mode. I tried manually forcing the projector back to SDR but the screen output still looked wrong, Movies are usually much darker than they should be, making them unwatchable.

The only fix I have found is to reboot the PC. i suppose I can try and track down the older video driver that did not exhibit this problem but I don’t really know where to start. Has anyone else seen this issue?
