Uninstall Error for MC27

After upgrading some time ago to MC28 I got around to uninstalling MC27, and I get the following error. Looks like I may have install it originally from the TEMP folder and since I have since cleared out the temp folder or something. Does anyone have an idea how to clean this out. My installation is only  a year old and relatively clean, I don't won't to start leaving dead wood around?

Try installing MC27 again, then uninstalling it.

Thank you Jim - yes that fixed it. Although trap for young players - better to reboot, then install, then uninstall.
