I recently received an email from pro audio company I deal with and they talked up some interesting audio and video networking solutions known as “Dante” developed originally about 15 years ago by a Sydney, Australia, based company where all audio and video is packetized for shipping over standard Ethernet work infrastructure.  Although probably not suitable for a typical one room audio system, it may provide benefits for transmitting information over distances where analog cabling may be suboptimal due to RFI/EMI consideration, etc.

Anyone have any experience with Dante?
