Album Artwork corrupted on View

(1/2) > >>

PPatla:
I recently have had Album Artwork start to get corrupted upon viewing my collection.  This is of recently added CDs to my collection that I ripped with XLD

It's not happening to all albums, I evern re-ripped and checked that the folder.jpg image was valid in each folder as well.

Running the latest version of 28

Matt:
What if you right-click and tell MC to rebuild the thumbnails for those files?

PPatla:
I rebuilt the thumbnails, that didn't fix it.

I went ahead, re-ripped again and tried different size album artworks 500x500 and opened those with other image programs to make sure the artworks themselves weren't corrupted.

Still seeing the same issue, weird.

bob:
What build of MC?
Running on what hardware?
Where are the music files?

PPatla:
After comparing the album art that I was having issues with and re-ripping to test the issue I was able to figure out that XLD for ripping CDs on the MAC has an option to scale artwork as it is embedded.

The scaling was corrupting the artwork for whatever reason.

I turned off scaling and re-ripped the CDs and they all are fine now.

I could never get the rebuild thumbnails to fix the issue.

I'm on version .77 right now.

I just wanted to close the loop here that is was the scaling issue on the artwork getting embedded.
