Media Center for MAC & Upgrade to MC28

I have a MC26 Master license and I've been using JRiver on that PC for a long time.  I just purchased a new 27" iMac and I want to start using JRiver on it.  I received an email this morning about upgrading to MC28, so I tried to install MC26 on the iMac so I could upgrade it to MC28.  When I entered the MC26 Master key, it said not valid.  What do I need to do to get MC26 on the iMac so I can upgrade it to MC28?

The email has upgrade instructions.

You can just install MC28 and purchase the upgrade.
