Paused audio resumes by itself after several hours?

64-bit 28.0.80

On several occasions, paused (control-p) audio playlist will resume itself. Most recently at 1 AM.  >:(

Cat on keyboard? Nope, the screen saver was still active so not that. Remote control? House band? Not currently used.

What then is causing spontaneous resume?
