MC uses 50 GB of memory?
(1/1)
andromaya:
All of a sudden, MC 28 started using excessive amounts of memory, causing my system to crash. To be more specific, I'm seeing MC utilizing all of the available RAM and about 50 GB of swap memory (while I only have 8 GB of RAM to begin with... how is that possible?) All of this while I'm not performing any tasks in the program. I'm no computer expert, but I'm sure this isn't normal, and probably bad for my computer. Today is the first time I've noticed this behaviour, and it is possibly linked to me re-downloading MC due to it crashing previously... Should I be alarmed? I'm using a Macbook Air with the M1 processor and 8 GB of RAM.
Edit: I'm using MC 280096
JimH:
No, you don't need to be alarmed. It's not bad for your computer. It isn't normal, but Apple has made some changes.
Try 28.0.97. https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,131491.0.html

Also, if you are running library server client, try turning off sync.
