Hello,

Just purchased an upgrade to Media Center 28. Prior to purchasing, I downloaded MC 25 as that was my last lic. and was able to restore. MC 25 has no issues in starting on my Mac Mini running macOS Big Sur 11.4

MC 28 just will not open up and I get the typical error saying that app ended suddenly.

I guess maybe I should have tried the demo before purchase. lol

MC 28 file/build I tried to install: MediaCenter280034-Universal

Hi,

Followed all installing instructions and the MC28 Build 0042 did exactly the same thing as the 0034.

As I mentioned earlier I installed MC25 today and it works fine.  Fresh install of MC25 and added an artist and works fine.

After moving MC28 to Applications Folder, I double click on it in Path Finder, and as I watch waiting for the MC icon to show in dock.....  It just doesn't happen and I get the error message.

Just can't seem to get MC28 going.

I have no security software on Mac Mini.

Operating System: OS 11.4
Mac Model ID: Macmini7,1

Only non-stock item is:

240GB Aura Pro X2 SSD Add-On Solution for Mac mini (Late 2014). High performance NVMe flash add-on solution, including tools & installation components.

When it comes up you will get the choice to report it to Apple.
Just click in the text area of the dump. Hit Apple-A then Apple-C to copy it into the buffer and paste it into an email.

One thing to be aware of, your Mac will ask for permission when a new version of MC runs for Accessibility and Screen Recording.
You must agree to the Accessibility one for MC to run. This has to do with Retina support.
You can see this under System Preferences->Security and Privacy->Privacy->Accessibility
Allow the Apps below to control your computer.
Media Center 28 must be there. If it's not, you can click the lock to make changes, hit the + sign and add it by browsing to Media Center 28 in your Applications folder (where you installed Media Center 28).

The Screen Recording permission is only used for MC to move images from one part of the screen to another in MC. I don't believe it's strictly necessary however you might see some odd UI behavior if you don't enable that.
System Preferences->Security and Privacy->Privacy->Screen Recording.

This problem seemed to only occur in the Intel machines with 11.4.
It's fixed in build 28.0.45 and newer.

My MC28 chokes up unexpectedly, mainly between songs. I have to force shutdown and restart. I have been using JRiver for at least the past 10 years and never had such an issue. This all started happening on the last update, on 2 different laptops using Windows 10 operating system. Please fix.  there is definitely something that happened on the last update.

I was running 28.0087 an my M1 Silicon under Big Sur (worked fine). After upgrading to Monterey 12.1 MC crashed upon start... wouldn't show any screen...
Upgrading to 28.0097 solved the problem - works fine again.
