Can't restore MC22 license on a new M1 MacBook Air

(1/2) > >>

MaartenAmsterdam:
Hi there,

I'm trying to reinstall MC22 I bought some years ago on a new MacbookAir2020. I downloaded the original MC22 from the 'old versions page'. I restored the license through the restore page by entering the original License Code that I still had in the original email. The program says it successfully restored the license, but then keeps completely crashing every time I try to open.

A new MC28 doesn't crash in the trial mode

A previous reinstalled version works fine on another MacbookPro under the same MacOs (Monterey). I don't understand what's going wrong.

Greetings,

Maarten

Awesome Donkey:
Media Center 22 is pretty old at this point, and macOS isn't exactly known for its great backwards compatibility with older apps. With an app that old, there's no telling what's going to happen with newer, different CPU architecture and newer version of macOS. I also can't recall if Media Center 22 was a 32-bit app only, if it was it definitely won't work anymore. Regardless chances are it may not be compatible.

MaartenAmsterdam:
Well it works on the same macOS Monterey on another laptop where I reinstalled a version some time ago.

So it doesn't look like the OS is the problem. Maybe the new M1 processor or some glitch in the restore key process....

Hmmm, maybe it's something like this issue: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,118316.0.html

MaartenAmsterdam:
Sounds promising. I'll try....Thanks for thinking with me.
