Use two audio outputs at the same time
« on: February 05, 2022, 05:21:12 am »

Is it possible to get audio from two devices at the same time?

In options> Audio> Audio device it is possible to select only one device: is there a way to have audio on 2 devices (the receiver and a bluetooth)?

You could try having two zones and linking them.

It didn't actually work. :'(

I have done various tests, but I still can't get what I want, so I prefer to explain exactly what I need, hoping for a solution.

I would like to have audio simultaneously from my receiver and my hearing aids via bluetooth.

I then created another zone, ticking my devices as audio device, in addition to the one in which the device is my receiver.

I then set the rules in ZoneSwitch as per the attached images, but unfortunately I can only hear the audio from the 2 devices individually and not simultaneously: did I make any configuration errors? Or can't I get what I want?

P.S. In the bluetooth zone, in room correction, I silenced all the channels except the centre which is what I would like to hear in the HA

Thanks for your help

To link zones drag and drop one zone onto the other.  Don't use ZoneSwitch until you have that working.

I tried to link the two zones like you told me and without using ZoneSwitch, but when the movie starts the two zones get disconnected, apart from a couple of occasions where they finally worked together, and it was really enjoyable.

In the Bluetooth zone I had to set the device as Direct Sound because it doesn't work at all with Wasapi: can it depend on this?

Thanks for the help, this thing if it works is worth the cost of JRiver to me alone

Sorry Matt I don't normally like to annoy others, but this thing is very important to me, more than all the other features of MC: can you help me understand where am I wrong?

You might not be able to play a video in linked zones.  They're designed for audio.

In fact, at first it worked because I had used an audio file, but when I tried with the video, it no longer worked: so do I have to abandon this idea? Or is future development possible?

Thank you
