Critical error. The program you are using is corrupt
« on: January 31, 2022, 08:24:38 pm »

I'm getting this message 'Critical error. The program you are using is corrupt.' after downloading MC28 on my windows 7. I also downloaded and tested MC27 and got the same error message.
I downloaded and tested MC26 which is working fine. But I'll like MC28 to be working fine on my pc without closing after 1 minute by itself.

On Windows 7, you might need some additional Windows updates to make sure MC works fine, which can result in this error otherwise.
I would generally recommend to run Windows Update and install everything that is offered, but at the very least this update is required (might be more though):
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/sha-2-code-signing-support-update-for-windows-server-2008-r2-windows-7-and-windows-server-2008-september-23-2019-84a8aad5-d8d9-2d5c-6d78-34f9aa5f8339

Note that Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft, and such problems are only going to get worse.

After upgrading to Windows 10 freely. The problem was solved. Great, thanks for the suggestion.
