While listening to music I frequently play image files like scanned album booklets. This works perfectly. The music continues to play and the image opens smoothly.

Similarly, while listening to music, I often want to play a txt or mht data file so I can read information about the music. This does not work as expected. The music stops playing, the data file opens, and then there is an annoying 2-3 second freeze while MC calculates something (I suspect MC is refreshing the view).

Note 1: If music is not playing, there is no short freeze after a data file is opened.

Note 2: Viewing data files via the View Extras menu works perfectly without stopping the music and without causing a short freeze.

Please make playing data files behave the same as playing image files.

Or put another way, please make Play behave the same as View Extras for data files.
