What version of MacOS are you running?
Are you running in a Media Server mode?
I just installed 29.0.18
Updated to latest (29.0.22) within MC
everything went as expected.

Hello Bob, I’m running the latest version of MacOS (Monterey V 12.3).
I Downloaded 29.0.22 as Paul suggested and it works fine.
Hopefully you will be able to figure out the issue … in app updates of JRiver is more elegant. :)
Regards,
Brian

I'll try again on Monterey, it worked fine on my Catalina intel box.

Bob - don't know why this wierdo happened but on Saturday after waiting for ages for the Mac Mini to update itself to Monterey 12.3 and then manually installing 29.0.22 when I switched MC to playing now the Display Panel was a white oblong and when I right clicked in it to select a Track Info Plugin it refused to load any of them. Thankfully telling it to display Cover Art finally got it to behave itself ;D

Seems broken in Monterey. The launch of the dmg with finder is giving an error even though paths, etc are correct. Need to find out what's changed in Monterey.

Fixed in the next build.
Unfortunately there is no way to make that retroactive so auto updates will be broken in Monterey until the user updates to 29.0.23.
The disk image was downloaded from the failed upgrade and it can be run manually currently instead of having to re-download the latest build.
You can get to it by doing
(hold down option key) select Go from the finder menu.
Then navigate to
Library
Application Support
J River
Media Center 29
Install
and double-click on the Media Center dmg file there.
Still it will not update properly on Monterey until 29.0.23 or later is installed.
