MC29 and iPod Nano 7g: compatibe or not?
(1/1)
Dogmatix:
Hello,
I posted this query over two weeks ago in the Apple devices section, but despite 125 views, no there has been no answer, so I take the liberty of posting again under MC29, in the hope that some support from JRiver or help from other users might be forthcoming.
On my Windows 10 PC I have JRiver Music Centre 29.
I have two iPod Nano 7th generation devices, model number A1446.
I would like to be able to copy MP3 music files to the Nanos using MC29 such that they show up on the Music list and are playable on the devices.
However, neither of the devices shows up in MC29. They both show up in iTunes (which I don't really want to use), but not in MC29.
I also have two iPod Nano 3rd Generation devices, model number A1236, and MC29 works perfectly well with those. They show up under "Drives and Devices", and them usic on them is listed, and I can transfer more music to them, no problem.
So why can't MC29 work with my 7th generation iPod Nanos? Am I missing a driver, or what?
Any help appreciated!
JimH:
I've moved this to the iPod / iPad board.
MC hasn't supported new iPods for many years. Older ones work.
We supported several of the first models before they encrypted the database. Apple decided you were better off without us.

Which is where I posted it in the first place and got no answer. That's why, thinking it may be an MC29 issue, I re-posted it there.

Such as where? I did search the forum for posts relevant to 7th generation Nanos and MC 29, but found nothing.
