WMA Lossless Ripping Issue with Windows 10
(1/1)
KurtS:
As reported before, there is an issue with MC when trying to rip a CD to WMA lossless in Windows 10. Ripping to this format worked fine in Windows 7 but when I upgraded all my PC's to Windows 10 the error occurred. I have a large digital music library using WMA lossless format so I'm not going to change formats now. It was reported that this was caused by changes in Windows 10 and suggested that because of this there is no solution to this problem. How I get around this problem is to use DBpoweramp Music Converter to do my WMA Lossless ripping which continues to work fine in Windows 10. So my question is if DBpoweramp can rip in Windows 10, why can't MC be updated to do the same? I'm currently using an older version of MC and would upgrade in a second if this ripping issue could be fixed. Is there any chance this will be fixed in a future release?
JimH:
What happens if you rip to FLAC and then convert to WMA? Same problem?
WMA isn't a very popular format. Your best bet is to check with Microsoft to see if they have a fix.
