Request: Position in Media-Set Support.
« on: March 14, 2003, 09:26:21 am »

Today I decided to perform a little experiment with MC9, and changed the album tag of one of my two disc albums to just "Eternal Arcadia OST" (versus "Eternal Arcadia OST [CD 1]" and "[CD 2]"), and using ID3-TagIt I edited the Position in Media-Set ID3v2 tag for both discs (to 1 of 2 and 2 of 2, respectively) and updated my MC9 library to see if the changes placed the tracks in proper order.  They didn't.

Could we please have implementation of this tag in future versions of MC9?  It would make using my iPod a lot more pleasant since most of my albums are four discs long and therefore take up a lot of unnecessary real estate on the album listing screen on my iPod as well as MC9's.  Thanks for your time.

It's not quite what you're looking for, but a work around would be to create a custome field for "Position in Media Set". You can then use that field in view schemes, sorting, filters, etc...

Check out the "Tree & Display" section of the "Options..."

Best,
Brad

I wonder if the custom field would be used if I transferred to the iPod?  That's my biggest concern...
