Tracks not sorting by number

(1/3) > >>

kewe65:
I manually updated the track numbers for an album to put them in the correct order, so that I could then sort and renumber them all.

However, clicking on the column heading will not resort the tracks.  It leaves the tracks in the position they were.

See screenshot

I even went so far as to delete all the track numbers and click another column a few times to sort.  then i manually typed in the numbers as I wanted them and clicked the sort again and it put the tracks right back where they were in the order they were ripped from the CD.  comical...

Matt:
Maybe try erasing the "Cache" folder under your library and restart.

The conversion cache folder is empty.  Is there another cache folder somewhere?

Matt:
Find your library and look for a "Cache" child folder.  We cache list sorting and I'm wondering if a bad version got saved.

Here's my folder:
C:\Users\Ashlands\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 29\Library\Cache

That didnt work.

I deleted the files under File List Sort folder and restarted but the files just reappeared and the sort was still the problem sorting.  I tried by deleting the File List Sort folder altogether, but it came back along with the wrong sorting.

I made sure the column was "Removed from sorting" prior to shutting down and following the above process.

Something is putting back the sort cache.....
