Spotlight language inconsistency
« on: May 12, 2022, 05:50:39 pm »

Something very strange is happening with me in Spotlight.
First let me tell you that I live in Lebanon where Arabic is the official language. But my router, my PCs, Laptops, Smartphones and of course JRiver are all set in English as the primary Language. Arabic is not set up anywhere on the system.
When I open Spotlight for a specific musician/album the first row shows musician name pictures etc. In English.
The second row shows the musician albums in English.
The third row shows the related musicians in Arabic !!!

Any reason for that or is it just a bug?

Thank you for your help.
M.

Please try to click on one of the albums.  Is the Google page in English?  If not, try changing the Google language setting to English: gear icon to open Quick Settings and select Languages.

This is the Google page I get when I click on the Mud Slide Slim album. It is in English as I expected since the name of the albums is displayed in English in Spotlight. The problem is showing in the Related Artists name!!!

This is the page I get which doesn't seem to be a Google page when I click on Carole King displayed in Arabic as a related artist.
As you can see the name on top of the Carole King page is now displayed in Arabic since It was initially displayed in Arabic in Spotlight when I clicked on it. And again the names of all Carole King Related Artists are displayed in Arabic in Spotlight.

Sorry, I am not sure why this is happening.  You have the PC's system language set to English?

Yes.

Is the source for the artist name and photos and the albums the same as the the related artists?

Thanks for your help

Yes, they all use Google as the source.  If you do not have anything in your system set to Arabic, then maybe it is somehow using your location for related artists? (But I still did not realize names would be "translated".)

Please try the next build which hopefully should fix this.  Make sure you clear the cache of your Spotlight pages first: Click "Refresh" at the bottom of the Spotlight page and then click "Clear All".
