Media Center 29 Hangs with Network enabled

MC29 continually hangs/crashes.
My pc configuration has been the same for years.
This happened a couple months ago after upgrading to MC29, and then seemed to subside.
However, it's back with a vengeance after this last MC update, and I can't get it to correct itself.
If I disable my network card, JRiver MC29 functions as normal.
As soon as I enable the network card, and I'm connected to the Network, MC29 performance becomes sluggish to the point where I can no longer navigate through the library and MC29 will eventually go into the "not responding state" and crashes.
All drivers up to date.
Windows 10 Pro OS is up to date.
I've tried (3) different network cards, and no difference in performance.
No matter which card is enabled, if I'm connected to the Network/Internet... MC29 will hang, and I have to close out.
I've added all JRiver MC29 Application Folders and Drives (containing music files) to the "Exceptions List" of my antivirus software. (Norton AV)
I've built all missing thumbnails.
I've ran defragmentation on all drives.
I've ran disc check on all drives.
PC is tip top, and all other apps work without issue.

Uninstall Norton.

Please read the Windows Defender thread on this board and configure it.

Completed the labor-intensive process of removing Norton Anti-Virus, and configuring Windows Defender with all the exceptions and exclusions, and the problem is the same.
Hangs and crashes whenever the network adapter is enabled.
I have no idea what the connection is between the network adapter and MC performance, but it's repeatable and consistent behavior.
In the task manager, Media Center is flagged as "not responding" until I wait long enough, and then it comes back online. It will then go offline and back online intermittently until I disable the network adapter. After disabling the network adapter, MC performance is stable/normal.
I've made sure the drivers and OS are all up to date.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Reboot a couple of times.  Uninstalling Norton should not be difficult.

Check your file locations in Options to make sure they exist.

What is the full version of MC?

Is it hanging (program unresponsive) or crashing (program disappears)?  Try waiting if it's just hanging.

This isn't a problem I recall seeing.  It's possible it's an OS problem that is exposed when MC tries to use the network.

Uninstalling Norton is not difficult... adding all the exceptions and exclusions to the Windows Defender configuration is what takes some time.  In any event, using Windows Defender is not the solution to this particular problem, as it has not helped MC performance at all.

It typically "hangs" instead of crashing... but it hangs for a long time, and is completely unresponsive to any clicks, and screen goes to a faded look while a blue circle icon continues to spin.  Sometimes it catches up and goes to normal, but more often than not, it stays circling until it attempts to send a report to Microsoft at which time I cancel out.

MC 29.0.81 (64-Bit)

These are the two separate errors I see in Event Viewer pertaining to MC (apologies if this is too long of a note.)

The program Media Center 29.exe version 29.0.81.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.
