Loading playlists very slow
« on: June 08, 2022, 02:57:59 pm »

When I want to open a playlist, it takes quite some time before the list is shown.
A list of 200 songs takes about 20 seconds
A list of 4000 songs... I gave up timing after 5 minutes.

I've tried two other (free) apps: both lists are loaded instantly in them.

Is this a known problem in JRiver?

I really do hope it will be solved in that building indeed. Otherwise the app is a no go for me, which would be disappointing for me because I've been using MediaCenter for something like 15 years now with lots of pleasure. Therefor my hopes were high for this app.
Any indication on when the new build will be released?

The new version (29.0.63) did improve the speed of loading the playlists indeed a bit. But it's stil way out of where it's supposed to be.
I have made a movie I made showing the time JRiver takes to load playlist and also the time it takes for Samsung Music to load the same lists. You will see a huge difference between them

In the same movie you can see that the cover art shown in the playlists is behaving very strange - it flashes from one cover for all songs to another for all songs.

I would like to send this movie to you, but it's way too big for an attachment within this post. Shall I send it to you by WeTransfer? If yes: to which address can I send it then?

Does it do this for all playlists or just really large playlists?

It also happens with a list of just 34 songs. It changes the covers of all songs something like 6 times and then shows just one cover for all the songs.

Regarding my offer to send you the film/movie I made to show you what the issue of loading playlists consists of (and the comparison with another app): please send me an email (address is in my account) and then I'll reply that with a link to the movie/film.
