Upgrade from MC22 to MC29

I am trying to restore my license to a new windows pc.  License was emailed to me and said it was for MC22, even tho I have MC21.09 installed on another windows pc in the home.  When I clicked the license key, it downloaded/installed MC22 on the new pc but when I try to install the license to that version, it says it's not for that product.  I also tried with MC21.09 with the same result. 

This is what the email said:  JRiver, Inc. Media Center 22 Id: 0C6Y9-____-____, 9 restores left.  That does mean the key is for MC22 right?  Why doesn't it work?

I want to upgrade to MC29, without having to purchase it new at full price.  What do I do?

You'll receive an MC30 license that works with MC29.0.86 now and will work with MC30 later this year.

The license you mentioned is for an Id. Id licenses are unique and can only be used on an Id. It cannot be used to purchase an upgrade. I did see that there is also an MC20 Linux license for your e-mail address. That license could be used to purchase an MC30 license for the upgrade price.
