Copy & Paste tracks into a new file
« on: March 09, 2003, 06:31:13 am »

Is there a way to copy selected tracks and paste into a new file?

When you say "paste into a new file" I take it you mean playlist. I don' have v9 but the logic should be the same as v8. Select your files...right click...select Send To...Create/Select Playlist

What I was referring to was selecting tracks from an opened file (within "media editor"), copying them to the clipboard, and then pasting the selection unto a new open file.

Sure thing...look near the bottom of Media Editor and you'll see a combo box with Clipboard 1 in it (along with 2 thru 5). Select a particular Clipboard and Cut/Copy your selection into it. Then you can Paste the clips into any file you want. As far as inserting the clips into a data-less (new) file...check out the help file for ME (can't seem to paste...but there must be a reason).
