Export/Import Settings?

(1/1)

Hi-

I do so much with tech. commercial inventory management, audio production and editing …etc. I use in Reaper, which people complain about being SO hard to use.

I find Media Center to be SO complex and confusing to tweak.
Great product overall, just baffling sometimes.

That said, I have everything the way I want it currently. I may be buying a new Mac soon and really don't want to have to set everything as it is again.

Is there a way to export all settings form my current set up; then import it to a new Mac when I install Media Center?

Thanks!

Do a library backup and restore that library backup on the new Mac. :)

When you do File > Library > Restore and choose your backup file, you will notice that there are two checkboxes:

1.  For settings
2.  For imported media files

You can restore these independently, or together.  So you could restore just settings and then import your media yourself to build a new library.  Or you could restore just the pointers to the media imported media files and start your settings from the defaults again.  Or do both at the same time.

Just FYI.

Thank you both. i had searched and found one explanation of the library, but not settings. I appreciate it!
