Do Theater View Themes support videos as backgrounds?

I seem to remember that Theater View Themes supported videos as backgrounds back when MC 14 was developed. Using MC30, I attempted to add a short .mp4 file in the Default Themes folder, but all I get is a black background.

Are videos still supported? If so, what might I be doing wrong? If not, can we re-add support?

Video backgrounds have been discontinued, and are unlikely to come back due to their complexity.
