MP3 player suggestions?
« on: March 04, 2003, 04:12:43 pm »

I am in the market for a flash memory based MP3 player (no hard drive)
Does anyone have any good suggestions.
All my MC music in in .ape format and I would like to be able to just create a playlist and send it to the portable with the minimum of manual steps and conversions.
I am new to this aspect of it and have done a lot of research on players and am no wiser. Any help would be appreciated. I would like to make this a one time purchase with the benefit of others experience.
BTW.. the reason I want a flash type player is 'cause I will be abusing it somewhat during outdoor activities.

Thanks in advance!

I was looking at the Reo before i got my player working again.

it takes memory cards not flash somthing else, but it has a built in radio it takes 256meg memory cards.

i think it is the only one with a AM\Fm radio, it would come in handy when when your walking and running to listen to the news (talk radio) or other music.

Flobalob,

You will need to convert your music to a different format to be able to play on any portable player, because none that I know of support .ape. Having said this, if you are looking for a flash memory player for outdoor use with MC, I would limit my search to those players that MC supports and which are small (for recreational activities) and inexpensive (because in a lot of ways they all are somewhat similar).
