A list of all media in JRiver

(1/2) > >>

sgfrisbee:
Is there a way to create list (txt, excel, doc) of all media on jriver in jriver.

JimH:
Select what you want, as if in a spreadsheet, copy it, then paste into a spreadsheet program.

drhogan:
Need a list of all albums with artist and filepath.  I copy (Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C) the view in Audio:Albums with selected fields and Paste (Ctrl-V) in Excel.
The data is pasted as a whole in a single column (see attached screenshot).
What am I doing wrong?  Alternatives?

Jim's suggestion always works very nicely for me (Office Pro Plus 2013).
My guess is that you have an Excel paste issue.  Consider the following in Excel:

Single click left mouse button on a single cell to highlight it, then paste.
Try Paste > Paste Special > Text (but should not be necessary).

Do not double click on the target cell in Excel before the paste.
Do not put cursor in the cell data entry window (top of spreadsheet) before pasting.
Check your selections in Excel Options > Advanced > Cut, copy, paste

You can convert your existing single column paste into multiple columns with Excel's Data Tools > Text to Columns.  Normally this should not be necessary, but it might help confirm validity of MC's copy and delimiter selection.

drhogan:
Pretty familiar with Excel - user and programmer since early 1980's when it was known as Multiplan.
Ended up copying one field at a time - a pain but got me there.
This could be an issue with Office365 - which our company switched to in the last year.  I do know that pasting tables from PDFs are not consistent now.
Going to have to find one of my old laptops with Office 2010 and see if that works.
