Conversion naming
« on: November 27, 2022, 12:51:00 am »

Hi,

When I use a format conversion in JRiver I get the names of the songs in a format: artist name, album name, track and name of the song. I would like to have only track number and song name. Where I can change this naming format ?

Interesting question.  I just did a few tests.

It looks like MC just uses the existing file name and puts a new extension on it.  I can't find any options that allow you to control the "convert format" file name of the converted files.

If this is for portable use, you could use the Handheld support in MC, which allows you to control file names and other things.  It's a bit more complicated to use though.

I don't have any great recommendations, but I think I can confirm what you see:  filenames are not settable when doing "convert format".

Brian.

It would be nice to have this function. At the moment I have to correct it manually. It is not a big deal but it would be nice to have.

Maybe JRiver team could consider changing this folder text box to support expressions like most of the other renaming text boxes
