Can not load MC21 on 2021 iMac

New to Mac and am trying to use my MC21 universal license to use JRiver but after finally getting the software to install it instantly crashes and never opens now matter how many times I try. I have a 28 license I purchased as well but that is Windows only. Is my only option to purchase new software?

Thanks for any help!

BTW, os is Mac Monterey 12.4
